Urgent: Chulaphan directly accepts 10,000 digital money, Phase 2 and Phase 3

On October 28, 2024, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, revealed that he is currently waiting for a meeting of the Economic Stimulus Policy Committee, which is expected to meet soon to prepare for discussions on various economic stimulus measures that will be urgently rolled out towards the end of this year and into early 2025, including discussions on the progress of the 10,000 baht top-up project via digital wallets.

The Ministry of Finance has already prepared all the details of the digital wallet project. The government still insists that it will move forward with disbursing money in the form of digital wallets to the remaining people who will be entitled to the project in order to move forward and support the digital economy policy to support and enhance economic growth in the long term.

Regarding the payment process, Mr. Chulaphan admitted that there is a high possibility that the payment will be made in installments, not in a single lump sum. However, he confirmed that all people who are entitled will definitely receive the full 10,000 baht.

Whether the payment process will be in installments or in a lump sum, we still need to consider the details, look at the information, look at the appropriateness, and look at all the numbers together first, but we admit that there is a high possibility and chance that the payment will be made in installments. To be honest, there is a chance that everyone will receive the full 10,000 baht. If the payment is in installments, it must be separated into phases 2 and 3. All details must wait for the meeting of the Economic Stimulus Policy Committee to consider first. But what is certain is that everyone will receive the full 10,000 baht,” said Mr. Chulaphan.

At Government House on the same day, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, discussed with the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking (JSCCIB), led by Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, as Chairman of JSCCIB and Chairman of the Board of Trade of Thailand, Mr. Kriangkrai Thienukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries, Mr. Phayon Srivanich, Chairman of the Thai Bankers Association, and Mr. Suthee Sathanasathaporn, Director of JSCCIB Office. Before the discussion, Mr. Sanan handed over a white paper, which was a proposal for solving the country’s economic problems, prepared by JSCCIB, to the Prime Minister.
