At 10:00 a.m. on October 28, 2024, Pol. Lt. Col. Thanantchai Sibsrikhacharat, Investigation Officer at Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station, along with the Investigation Division, Airport Authority officials, security officers, doctors on duty at Bang Phli Hospital, and the Ruam Katanyu Foundation inspected a white Toyota van with Bangkok registration, parked with the engine running, at a gas station inside Suvarnabhumi Airport in Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province. After working with doctors and other relevant personnel to inspect the interior of the vehicle, the body of Mr. Ekkarat (surname withheld), aged 53, from Sri Racha District, Chonburi Province, was found leaning against the door. Officers therefore removed the body for an initial autopsy, and no wounds or signs of physical assault were found. It is estimated that he had been dead for approximately 6–8 hours.

Asked the gas station employee, he said that he saw the van come in to fill up with gas and asked to stop and sleep at 10:00 PM on October 27. Then at 6:00 AM, the maid knocked on the window to call him but he didn't wake up. He thought that he was still sleeping, so he let him sleep. Then at 9:00 AM, he knocked again but there was no answer. He opened the right door to look and found that he was stiff and dead, so he notified the authorities to come and investigate.
Meanwhile, the employer and owner of the car revealed that the deceased had applied to be a driver for more than a month. In the past, he often asked for sick leave. Until last night, he called to say that the car was out of gas. So he bought some gas and filled it up for him. Then he told the deceased to fill up with gas and park the car at the gas station. However, the deceased said that he wanted to stop and sleep first and then take a bus back home to Chonburi this morning. When he heard the news that he had died, he rushed to come and see him.
Initially, the police sent the body of the deceased for a detailed autopsy at the Ramachak Green Ruebodin Hospital's Forensic Medicine Institute and will contact and inform the relatives. The cause of death is believed to be a chronic disease.
