On October 29, 2024, the Comptroller General's Department clarified the incident of fake official documents that deceive pensioners and retired civil servants. Ms. Thiwaporn Phasuk, Deputy Director-General of the Comptroller General's Department and spokesperson for the Comptroller General's Department, revealed that fake official documents were shared on social media, stating that the Comptroller General's Department had proposed measures to solve the problem of call center gangs and had notified pensioners to apply for deposit protection with the Deposit Protection Agency (DPA) in accordance with the announcement of the Comptroller General's Department.

The official document also stated that it had set criteria for creating a database on the Deposit Protection Agency, which has important principles, summarized as follows:

Requires that eligible persons fill in information according to the application form to add/update information in the government personnel database (Form 7127) and sign to certify the accuracy of the information, along with supporting documents for consideration.

The Registrar of Government Personnel and the Registrar of Pensions are responsible for verifying the accuracy of the information submitted by eligible persons and recording such information in the government personnel database within 15 days from the date of receipt of correct and complete information.

The Comptroller General's Department would like to clarify that the official document is fake. And it is not related to the Comptroller General's Department. Therefore, pensioners are asked not to believe it and follow what the scammers say. If any pensioners have any questions, they can ask for more information at the Comptroller General's Department Call Center, telephone number 0 2-270-6400 during office hours, said the Comptroller General's Department spokesman.
