At 11:30 a.m. on October 28, 2014, reporters received a complaint from Mrs. Thong-in Namwongsa, age 57 (wife) and Mr. Saweng Namwong, age 67 (husband), living in Wang Saphung Subdistrict, Wang Saphung District, Loei Province, that they were deceived by Foreman Tum into buying 5 rai of rubber plantation land at 300,000 baht per rai, totaling 1,500,000 baht, and then taken to the Land Office, Wang Saphung District, Loei Province, to sign a land transfer, but did not pay the money, and later found out that after the transfer, it was mortgaged to a capitalist for 250,000 baht. They filed a complaint at Wang Saphung Police Station.

Mrs. Thong-in Namwongsa said that she worked in construction and got to know Foreman Tum. She did not know his real name or surname. He said that he wanted to buy land. He had two rubber plantations, totaling 5 rai, at 300,000 baht per rai. He wanted to sell it to get money to build a house. Foreman Tum agreed to buy it, so they made an appointment at the Wang Saphung District Land Office on October 1, 2024. When they arrived, they met the Foreman and Mr. Natthachai Butmuen, 44 years old, from Surat Thani Province, who came together and gave him documents for him to sign. He understood that he was there to request a survey. He later found out that the land had been transferred to Mr. Natthachai Butmuen’s name. He then asked Foreman Tum about the 1,500,000 baht and was told that he would take care of it tomorrow.
Until October 2, 2024, Foreman Tum transferred 20,000 baht into his own account and disappeared, so he called to ask for it. Then, on October 7, 2024, another 20,000 baht was transferred into his account, totaling 40,000 baht. After that, he disappeared and could not be contacted at all. It was later discovered that after being tricked into transferring the land, Mr. Natthachai Butmuen took both plots of land to mortgage with a financier at Wang Saphung Municipal Market for 250,000 baht, so he reported the incident to the Wang Saphung Police Station on October 26, 2024, that the two of them had colluded to defraud him.
The reporter called Foreman Tum to ask about what happened. A woman answered the phone and said that she was in Bangkok and not available to talk. She would call back. Then she hung up.
