Register for the new round in 2025 and receive 1,545 baht in financial assistance. Who will receive it?
Progress on the 2025 State Welfare Card project, the latest round, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, is preparing to urgently convene a meeting to discuss the progress according to the Cabinet resolution to review old state welfare cardholders, which will be done every 2 years because some cardholders may have fallen out of the criteria or some who did not qualify in the previous round may qualify in this round.
It was reported that the Ministry of Finance will consider the increase in the minimum wage to 400 baht per day. Therefore, there will be many people who will be excluded from the vulnerable group of state welfare rights.
For the registration for the 2025 state welfare card, the latest round, Mr. Chulaphan revealed that the earliest it will open for registration is after the New Year in January to March 2025, which is postponed from the original estimate of opening registration at the end of March 2025. This is to ensure that the number of eligible persons is reached by 31 March 2025. Those who qualify will receive 1,545 baht in assistance per month, divided into the following amounts:
- Consumer goods purchase budget of 300 baht per person per month
- Public transportation travel allowance of 750 baht per person per month
- Cooking gas discount of 80 baht per person for 3 months
- Water bill relief measures of 100 baht per household per month
- Electricity bill relief measures of 315 baht per household per month
The qualifications for registering for the state welfare card are based on the original criteria for 2022 that were previously set.
1. Thai nationality, aged 18 years and over
2. Income not exceeding 100,000 baht/person/year
3. Average family income not exceeding 100,000 baht/person/year
4. Assets: deposits, lottery tickets, bonds, and government debt instruments not exceeding 100,000 baht/person
5. No ownership of real estate (as specified)
6. Must not have a credit card
7. Total housing loan not exceeding 1.5 million baht and/or total vehicle loan not exceeding 1 million baht, etc.
As for the exact date for opening registration for the new round of state welfare cards in 2025, which day will it be? The Treasury Department urges the public to wait for official announcements to ensure that information is consistent across all agencies.
