Just found out! What does the number .5 on the snack bag mean? Is it the expiration date? The manufacturer answered it himself.

It must be said that it is normal when buying snacks in a bag. One thing that almost everyone will check is the expiration date to prevent buying the wrong thing or buying old stuff. But sometimes, specifying the expiration date can confuse many people.

Most recently, on October 28, 2024, a Facebook user named Mongkol Tiprod posted about his doubts after purchasing a brand of snacks in a bag, which stated that the manufacturing date was April 29, 2024, and the expiration date was October 29, 2024, with the number .5 at the end. This made the poster wonder what the number .5 was and when exactly the expiration date was. However, after the post was published, netizens gave various answers, but one person gave the clearest answer, stating that the number .5 that was seen had nothing to do with the expiration date, because the expiration date was clearly stated as October 29, 2024. The number .5 at the end was the fifth production line. Importantly, most snacks only have a shelf life of 6 months.
