Answered: Digital money phase 2, general group will receive 10,000 this December.

After the Ministry of Finance opened registration for smartphone users for digital money on September 15, there has been no official announcement from the government regarding the names of those who will receive 10,000 baht or the date of the money distribution. Recently, there has been news spreading on social media that those who registered for the second phase of the digital wallet will receive the money in December via a government application.

The Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization) has investigated the information and clarified that the information is not true because the government application cannot link bank accounts and does not store people's bank account information. The government application only links the information and services of government agencies under a controlled and highly secure connection. It does not allow the general public, the private sector, or banks to link their account information and service systems with the application.

If the digital wallet is distributed, it is expected to be distributed via a bank application or an e-wallet service provider, which will be a central payment platform of the government that supports spending, which is a system separate from the government application.

The latest progress on the distribution of the second phase of the digital wallet for the people, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, explained that discussions will proceed in the committee meeting to find a definite conclusion on when the 10,000 baht will be distributed. Ready to confirm that people who have already registered will definitely receive the money.
